John Brownlee '93
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of vidscrip
John Brownlee is CEO and Co-Founder of vidscrip, a company that enables health systems, life sciences companies, clinicians, and patients to successfully move toward Value Based Care by maximizing the value of their most important asset – their expertise. With the vidscrip app healthcare providers can record their answers to frequently asked questions and make them available to their own patients before, during, and after in-person consultations. Delivering expertise through vidscrip relieves time pressures at the point of care, allowing clinicians to be more productive, appointments to be more personal, and patients to be more engaged.
Along with running vidscrip, John is an advisor and mentor with HealthXL and also founded Health 2.0 Twin Cities. Before founding vidscrip, John was President and CEO of Quinnian Health, which was later acquired by Blackstone Technology, and held leadership roles in Logistics Health, Glaxo Smith Kline, Merck, and sanofi-aventis.
In November, 2015, John was awarded Healthcare Executive of the Year by Minnesota Business Magazine. The award is given to an executive of a Minnesota-based health care company who has demonstrated personal excellence in industry advocacy, educational efforts, philanthropy, patient care and employee culture.
John is passionate about developing solutions that add value to both patients and healthcare providers. John has a degree from Bethel University in economics. He loves to play golf and travel. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two boys.
